We have had a few people ask us when we were going to register. Most women register around month six. We had decided that we would go do it around month five because we kept being asked about it. However, there is one relative (who shall remain nameless to protect his/her identity) who has been very insistent about us registering, asking weekly: "Have you registered yet?" "Have you registered yet?" "Have you registered yet?" Because neither one of us wants to take the time to change our voicemail messages to, "No, we haven't registered yet," we decided to just go ahead and bite the bullet and get it over with.
So, for those of you who have been questioning, we registered at three different locations (which we do know is more than average, but for us there was no one-stop-shop). We are registered at Hip Baby Gear in Marblehead, Mass. http://www.hipbabygear.com/ This is a rather small registry, mainly just for a highchair and stroller (because our town is full of cobblestones and sand, we have to get something a little more hardcore than most) and their accessories. This registry is available online, in the store, and on the phone, and we have it set that so all items purchased online aren't shipped but available for in-store pick-up, cutting shipping costs. We also registered at Crunchy Granola Baby in Salem, Mass. http://www.crunchygranolababy.com/. The store isn't currently available online; however, shopping may be done in person or over the phone, and all orders are set for us to pick up, with no shipping costs. Because there isn't an online registry, we do have a Word doc that can be sent with item images, descriptions, and prices of those items on the registry. Finally, we did register at Babies 'r' Us http://www.babiesrus.com/, where items can be purchased online or at any location.
