At 22 weeks, not much has changed for the baby except its size, but our house could now officially be considered a sauna at nearly 90 degrees inside. I think (read: hope) our days without air conditioning are quickly coming to an end. We did have a brief reprieve for the 4th which we spent watching fireworks while wearing fleece! This was the first year where we were in downtown Salem for the festivities and it was awesome. Before the fireworks over Salem Harbor there was a military flyover as well as a very large orchestra (50+ members) tribute to Broadway and the armed forces. The fireworks done to the "1812 Overture" were great and even the littlest Radue got quite the kick out it (or at least my abdomen did).
The weekend prior we spent in Rhode Island at a wedding reception/honeymoon send-off for our good friends Ian and Brittany, where we were able to enjoy a New England rarity: an outdoor pool. I was pleased to not only escape the heat but put my maternity suit to good use after all of the trouble it took to find one I liked. David also got the chance to use his Papa Bear instincts. It hasn't happened very many times but as a warning to you all: I hate having my stomach touched. Don't do it. David even has to ask before touching my stomach. When other people try to touch it I haven't really said anything, I have just backed away. David hasn't had a problem finding words as he demonstrated with one of our friends: "Whoa. Did you just touch my wife's belly? You know you aren't touching the baby, just Liv. So, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go find your wife so I can touch her inappropriately." I don't think we'll have a problem with belly touching in the future.
