The baby should now be around 3 lbs. and a foot and a half long, meaning almost at its full length. So, only 10 more weeks until the estimated due date, and 7 weeks until the baby reaches term (and would no longer be considered a premature baby)! It's just hit me that ten months is very close to an entire year. There are fleeting moments of, "only 10 more weeks, we've got too much stuff to do," but primarily it feels like 10 more weeks is forever away. It's the same feeling I get when microwaving popcorn, the last thirty seconds are the longest thirty seconds ever.
With as big as the baby is getting, I am fully surprised at how much movement is going on in there. It is like a stampede of babies; if I weren't such a good gate-keeper, I would swear our baby was inviting over others to roll around and kick up a storm in there. It is especially interesting not just to feel all of this movement, but to watch it from outside. Looking at my stomach, you can see all of the kicking, punching, etc., and we swear, there's no way that's only four limbs. I think professional blogger Amalah put it best on her blog Zero to Forty when she said it, "may feel like you're gestating a pissed-off housecat rather than a chubby wittle baby at this point." I do try to think more positively about it than that, but our little bundle of joy that originally earned the nickname Cricket because of all the little hops inside, is dangerously close to earning the moniker Rowdy Weasel.
In other news, I did make a corduroy Mei Tai that I need to photograph. It got finished last Thursday, but my energy has started to shift in the other direction and I haven't had the energy to hunt down charged batteries for the camera. It may be a while before our water Mei Tai gets made, because I don't know what boost of confidence made me think I could easily sew swimsuit fabric. Just cutting out the fabric--as it slid all over my cutting surface--was an adventure in patience.

I'm so impressed by your creativity Liv! The onzies and booties are adorable and I love the idea of dressing your little one in homemade gear.
I remember the constant movement stage and now that I have a constant mover OUTSIDE of my belly I have to admit that I miss it.
Can't believe you only have 10 weeks to go... enjoy this time because it is truly the best.
