The doctor's visit went very well, as did leaving the house for the first time, although at day three it was a little early. Her weight is right on track and she seems perfect in every way. The family practitioner was so impressed with how well we were all doing that he said he feels good having her come in on the schedule that is used for second or later babies instead of first-borns, because we seem to be doing everything perfectly. We also unfortunately needed to pick up some groceries while we were out, but Avonlea Jane was not bothered by Trader Joe's at all. In fact, we had quite the impressive first nursing in public experience where I surprised even myself at being able to hold her latched on with one hand while shopping with the other without it even being noticeable that she was feeding. (If it could only be that easy at 4 a.m.)

She's perfect!
I am so happy for you and David both! Avonlea is absolutely beautiful and she is doing wonderfully because of the two of you! I appreciate so much you both blogging your experience as you have time, especially because I am so far away and not able to see you all.
All 3 of you are in my thoughts and prayers. Good luck getting more sleep...I hope it comes soon!
