She heard live music for the first time when we went to go hear our friends Judy and Barbara play in Chelmsford. Many people commented on how surprised they were at our quiet baby. She was just content to sit on our laps or the laps of friends Ian and Brittany. The only awkward moment was when a lady (who had too much to drink) asked if her friend, who had been laid off that day, could hold our baby. David smartly said, "You'll have to ask my wife." Seeing as how we had let other new people (who we knew) hold her, I couldn't think of how to say no. So, we just crossed our fingers that she hadn't been fired for dropping babies and let her hold ours.

Avonlea Jane also made her first trip to Boston when we went downtown for lunch. The weather was nice and we were pleased to get the opportunity to walk around. Avonlea Jane slept for most of our walking, but even if she had been awake, I'm not sure how much she would have seen around David's coat.
Avonlea Jane also had the chance to sleep through her first movie when Mommy went to see a matinee of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. As the snow and ice are melting here, we're excited to get her out of the house more, especially in downtown Salem.
