Smiley baby

Avonlea Jane's first Valentine's Day weekend was full of new things. Our little princess was able to watch Daddy open her present, two feminist princess tales, CinderEdna and The Paperbag Princess. Then we spent the rest of the weekend with a visit from Brandy and Yuri, who were both very excited to get to wear her around town.

Yuri did most of the baby wearing when we were in downtown Boston. Being a woman and carrying a cute baby gets you attention, but being a man wearing a baby gets you celebrity status. Yuri couldn't believe all the attention he was getting with a little baby. He also found himself getting the "Dad nod" from other men with children. Yuri wore Avonlea Jane for a few hours walking around to see the North End, the Old North Church, the U.S.S. Constitution and museum, and during her first boat ride around Boston.

We have gotten a lot of comments on our serious and sullen baby. We promise that she smiles, we just never get a smile captured on camera. This weekend though we were finally able to get some smile photos, because she was downright smiley nearly all weekend.
Avonlea Jane's normal expression, followed by baby smiles:

Brandy kept making her nearly giggly.

Mommy was wearing her a little higher, so this trip she was able to look around .

On her first trip on the subway, she was a little mezmorized by all the new sights.

The approaching trains are loud.

I also wanted to mention, Liv, that the look of delight in your face in the pics of smiling Avi is beautiful too. Your face just glows. :)
