Sand in our toes

This weekend New England is experiencing a heatwave with temperatures over eighty. So, we decided to take Avonlea Jane to Crane Beach in Ipswich and let her feel sand for the first time. It was a beautiful day and Avonlea Jane had a wonderful time. She loves being outside, but we had never seen her so happy to be out. It was quite the experience to see people in bathing suits when there aren't even leaves on the trees yet.

She isn't asleep; we just forgot to bring her sunglasses.

Her time with her feet in the sand.

We didn't bring suits, but the weather was so nice that we took her dress off. (That's her Baltic amber teething necklace.)

She didn't seem to mind sand in her mouth.

Even though the air was warm, the water was certainly cold. David and I squeaked when we put our feet in, but being evil parents, we were curious to see how Avonlea Jane would react. We were so surprised, she didn't even make a sour face. (The video isn't the best quality.)
