Leaving town before the next big snowfall

We had some melting this week, but the snow pile in the back yard is almost over the fence.

From the street, this pile is easily taller than David. We're nervous about what it will look like after tomorrow's estimated 15-20 inches of snow.

Today was my first whole day alone with both kids. With having all outfits set out out the night before, we were able to get out of the door for story time in short order this morning. After an enjoyable time at the library, we headed to the RMV to transfer the title on the new car. I was worried about how both Will and Avonlea Jane would fare while waiting, especially because the waiting area already had its share of crying kids. However, we were there for half an hour before our number was called, and Will slept for all but five minutes (when he nursed), and Avonlea Jane read to herself quietly. When we were called to the counter, the clerk was so impressed with Avonlea Jane's behavior, he gave her a stuffed toy frog on his desk she was admiring. Then, when we came home, both little ones took a nap at the same time, allowing me to get plenty done around the house. Here's hoping our future days will be so easy.
