For those who we haven't been able to tell, our household is going to gain another member soon. Our friends Robert and Leticia are moving to Washington shortly, and their sixteen-year-old foster daughter, Micheala, will not be able to join them. We'd spent some time with Michaela, and when we heard they were leaving, we made the choice to offer her a place with our family. It was a long road to get all of the certifications we needed to get, and so far, Michaela's spent some days and weekends with us, but she'll be moving in full time next week.
It's certainly a busy and exciting time for our family, and she'll, of course, be making plenty of appearances on the blog.
Micheala (left) and her best friend, Brenna, stayed with us for part of the weekend, and on Monday, we went to Halibut Point State Park in Rockport.
Michaela and Will
The kids loved jumping from rock to rock.
Michaela and Brenna pointed out all the best tide pools.
Hunting for crabs and snails
The girls were a great help in keeping the kids safe and entertained.
Chasing after Michaela to hold her hand on the way to the car.
Will wasn't thrilled with leaving the park--even when promised ice cream--so Brenna kept making him chase her to get him to keep walking.
