Happy 4th birthday, Avonlea Jane!

After birthday pancakes, it was time for presents! The kids were both eager as David unpacked a box from Indiana.

Boots!

"I got a hat!"

"My turn. Me!"

There were even some presents for Will in the mix.

Avonlea Jane had her new doll Ergo on for all of two minutes before Will piped up, "My turn." Once he had a doll on his back, he declared, "Will Daddy!" He then went to make breakfast in his play kitchen, just like Daddy.

After presents, making dog cookies, and Will's nap time, we got dressed to go to a birthday party for Jack, who shares the same birthday. His party was a Jack-of-all-Trades party, so Avonlea Jane was dressed as a doctor when we went  through the neighborhood to deliver dog cookies to the dogs we knew. Above, she's standing with our next door neighbor Jim after giving Cocoa some cookies.

Will was a tattoo artist. (You can't see the temporary tattoos on his arms in this photo.)

In the arms of P.I. Daddy and with Michaela, who was Will's business partner as a piercing artist.

We knew our little ones would be the only other kids at Jack's party, so we forfeited the actual party day to Jack so that his party could run into adult time on Saturday if needed. Leading up to their birthday, Avonlea Jane was excited about her party on Sunday. At bedtime on her birthday, she did inform us that we "gave away her birthday," we should apologize for ruining her birthday, and in the future, she and Jack should just have one party so they both get to have birthdays.

Jack wasn't very interested in opening more presents after getting a truck, so the task was outsourced.

When we got home from the party, Avonlea Jane wanted a drive-in movie while eating a sandwich.
