America's Stonehenge

This weekend, we headed out on Sunday for a day at America's Stonehenge followed by sushi.

We'd heard about these manmade 4,000 year old stone structures in New Hampshire from a friend.

Stones!

Avonlea Jane was excited because it was just like in the movie Brave.

The kids loved all the nooks, crannies, and tunnels.

Walking into the oracle chamber

The stones were set up in a number of accurate astronomical positions.

They found a mom reading a book to her little boy and made their own storytime.

The sacrificial alter

Once Daddy pointed out all the ripe blueberries, walking wasn't going to happen until the kids had their fill.

Picking his own berries

The kids really loved our trip and didn't want to leave. Thankfully, the promise of sushi and bento boxes made everything better.
