Week 14

The baby is now the size of a fist, for our baby, perhaps closer to David's fist than mine. It now has opposable thumbs, a nose bridge, and active saliva glands. There are also visible and distinguishable sex organs (to a 3D ultrasound only). The most interesting of the developments is that the baby can now make different facial expressions and is most likely sucking its thumb. Fetuses at this age aren't yet fully conscious but have rudimentary personalities and individual qualities from other fetuses. We're hoping our baby is developing a rather witty personality. Ideally, we would like its first words to be a pun of some sort.

I am thoroughly enjoying your posts. Dillon and I laughed ourselves silly this evening! We cannot be positive about baby's first words, however, we are certain wit is in the DNA. So funny. Love to the three of you, Mom
