Interesting fact: Our baby at this stage already has developing taste buds which you would think it wouldn't use for a while. However, "research shows that both flavors and smells from the mother's diet can pass into her bloodstream and then into both the amniotic fluid and fetal blood. An unborn baby is actually able to taste the different flavors of foods his mother eats and will swallow more amniotic fluid when the mother consumes something sweet." (Mothering Magazine) Thanks to my sour/vinegar diet, our baby will most likely look this one, with a look on its face like it has been sucking on lemons for nine months.

Ugh, Mother Nature
Just to talk a little bit about another mother...clearly Mother Nature has mixed up the nation's regions this week. Not only has Indiana been hit with flash flooding usually only seen in hurricane alleys, but apparently Indiana's weather was sent to Massachusetts by mistake. On Friday, our heat still kicked in one time during the night, but by Sunday the temperature outside had hit 96 with unbearable humidity. All day Sunday and yesterday the temperature inside our house was hovering around 90. We do have fans in the house which help some, but because of our cats' ability to pop open screens and go wandering in the driveway, our windows can't be opened more than two inches. So, just a note to any summer visitors who we might host, pants may become optional for all members of the house.
