We had our 18-week survey on Wednesday where they did an ultrasound of the baby's brain, heart, kidneys, etc. Everything looks great. We had the same problem as always in that it was difficult to get any still images or a heartbeat reading because the baby wouldn't stop moving. In the last week the movement has become more pronounced, especially when I am lying down. It feels like mice tap dancing on my spine. Because of how much the baby was moving the ultrasound took an hour and a half, and we didn't really get any good sonograms to post. I'll try to see if I can scan one in this week, but our scanner has been uncooperative. If it is any consolation, I thought that on the live images, the baby looked like my brother Dillon (And no, that doesn't mean the baby had its arms crossed the whole time. Actually the baby's hands were either busy grabbing its feet or being stuffed into its mouth.). The baby is still measuring advanced, ~1 week and 4 days, moving our due date up to the first of the month. This is dangerously close to a Salem Halloween baby. Our baby is around 6.5" from crown to rump and around 10.5 oz.
Other news: We made it to the beach yesterday for the first time this season. I still can't sleep; this may last a while, a long while. We got our first batch of homemade cloth diapers! And, we put together the changing table. Maxwell quickly tried it out and assured us that it was comfy. (I told my mom that when the baby is born--judging by our cats--we will either obsessively photograph it, or it will be "the case of the third child" and we'll have a handful of baby pics in comparison to our albums of cat photos. David thinks the first option may win out. We'll see.)
