Registry Issues and Changes

When family originally asked us to register, we knew that there would be no one-stop shop for us, because while Babies ‘r’ Us is wonderful for items like car seats, they don’t cater as much to a cloth-diapering crowd. So, in the beginning, we registered at three different stores, primarily in the interest of supporting local business. However, that wound up being too much of a hassle to not have everything in one list or not everything available for online purchase. We combined our two local wishlists to one online list [you will no longer be able to find a registry list at Hip Baby Gear or Crunchy Granola Baby], which is now found at (please forgive the horrible URL): www.thethingsiwant.com/nautical and you can of course still find our traditional registry at Babies ‘r’ Us by searching our names.

The new online list is not a typical online registry in that it doesn’t direct you to only one store. We have provided a link for each item where you may purchase it (generally based on where there’s free shipping, and most items listed are from the same store), but you have the freedom to purchase them wherever you like (your favorite online retailer, a local store like Crunchy Granola Baby, EBay, Craigslist, a garage sale, or you can make it yourself if it is that type of item) and then simply mark the item as purchased (if you purchased it from the link) or reserved (if you purchased the item somewhere else). To purchase more than one item at a time, you would simply open up a second browser window to have the registry list in one and the online store in another. If you purchase something, the site gives you the option of listing who purchased it, do not feel like you have to enter this. We know this sounds confusing, but we promise, we did it to make it easier.
