Today Avonlea Jane had her two-week doctor's appointment. She is doing quite well and is actually developmentally ahead of schedule (with holding up her head, focusing, and being alert). She weighed 8 lbs, 5 oz, which is right on target. She weighed 8 lbs, 3 oz at birth, and they like babies to be at their birth weight at two weeks with an ounce a day afterward. So, our little miss is an ounce ahead of the game at fifteen days old.
After going to the doctor, Grandpa R and I took her to meet Santa, where we happily were met by not a shoddy helper Santa but a true Kris Kringle.
And, we're beginning to think that this head of dark hair may be here to stay; it is certainly a first for both families.
