Avonlea Jane was more than content to hang out under the umbrellas and play in the sand. This summer, she hasn't been a fan of the water. Despite how warm the air temperatures have been, the ocean temperature hasn't warmed up yet. Whenever we've tried to get her to go in, there's been quite a bit of protesting and crying.
Sand, yum.

The best thing about Devereux Beach is the playground overlooking the ocean. After the kids were done snacking and playing in the sand, we let them loose to play. Avonlea Jane made quick friends with an older kid who was stuck to her like glue. They were both laughing up a storm trying to out "look what I can do" each other. The little boy said he was 7.5, and when Avonlea Jane told him she was 2.5, I was worried he wouldn't want to play with her anymore. However, he was very complimentary and told her she could easily pass for 3.5.

Later that night, we went to watch Daddy, Joe, and Carolyn play Frisbee on the Common.
We also went to play on the Common playground.

Pretending to be a ladybug

When the game was finished, we all went to get pizza at Damata's, where we were surprised to find that we were friends with everyone who was eating there that night. It was the perfect summer day.
