Museum of Science

Along with Michele, we took advantage of "free Salem days in September" at the Boston Museum of Science. As it was the first week of school, the museum was practically deserted. We joked that we were half of the guests there that day.

We started our visit at the discovery center, and Will loved the infants' section.

Making a secret message

They were the only kids in the discovery center.

During lunch, I just opened a banana and let Will have at it.

Ah, the difference between Child 1 and Child 2. I would have never let Avonlea Jane get this messy at home, let alone in public! However with Will: eh, there's a bathroom, and I've got a spare outfit.

We always do the museum in the same circuit, so we mixed it up and started with the exhibits we never have time to see. Avonlea Jane enjoyed the human body and birth exhibits. In the past, she's kind of torn through the museum touching things and pounding buttons. This was the first time she really took time to explore the exhibits and let us read things to her. If there was a station with directions, she would listen to them and do as instructed. We were both amazed at how she was interacting with exhibits in the same way we were.

Taking a break

Sometimes, spending all day in public with both kids can be a daunting task; however, this was the perfect day with happy children.

Enjoying Mommy's magnetic artwork

We bookended our day at the discovery center.

So soft
