On our way home, we stopped in Montpelier for lunch, and Avonlea Jane was happy to find an accordion player (of questionable talent).
We spent some time exploring their farmers' market before walking to lunch.
After a month of being away from home, the kids were antsy for some craft time.

We were also happy to see all of our neighbors again. One of our first nights home, Avonlea Jane went door to door asking if our neighbors would like to come over for apple pie. Then, we got to see everyone again at Grace's first birthday party.

In trying to meet our 1,000 Places in Massachusetts goal for the month of July, Avonlea Jane said she wanted to go to an Audubon sanctuary, so we went to the Ipswich River site in Topsfield.
Playing in their little play zone before going on a hike
For someone who said they wanted to go on a hike, Avonlea Jane hates being in the woods and generally complains the whole time. On the other hand, Will loves walking through the woods.
