This week we spent some time at Bradley-Palmer State Park, and Avonlea Jane went on the search for a honey tree.
"Wait for me!"
We crossed paths with a little friend.
I thought with the nice weather I might get half an hour out of my little hikers, but they were happy to stay on the trails for almost an hour and a half.

This week was Will's last nature class, and there was a surprise guest: a little salamander. Our task for the day was to go find him some lunch.
These classes have been so great for Will. He's really become more confident and comfortable being with other kids and not always right next to me. It took an adjustment period for him to be okay with being "just Will" in an activity and not a part of Avonlea Jane-and-Will.
Holding up a worm he found
All the kids handed over their worms to save for the salamander. Mommy was the queen of worm catching.
"All done worm hunting. Now I'm Harry Potter." My little wizard got a bit overzealous with his wand waving and had to be reminded there's no magic allowed outside of Hogwarts.
"I hiding!"
