Beating the heat

Saturday morning, we picked up our little ones from their sleepover with Taran and Finn, and after a brunch with both families, we headed home to start setting up the back yards. Due to everyone's schedules, we weren't able to do our annual Memorial Day weekend barbecue with our neighbors, so we did one this weekend instead. We were too busy having fun to take photos, but we did get one of at least our two kids at the kids' table. Griffin (9 months) was busy lying down, and Grace (2) was sitting on Mommy's lap for much of the time.

Will, Avonlea Jane, and Grace made use of our sprinkler. (Avonlea Jane did eventually go put on her suit.)

When we were all done eating and in the midst of cleaning up, Will asked for a job to do, and we asked him to carry in a package of hot dog buns. Perhaps three minutes later, we came into the house carrying our loads and found him like this on the living room floor. We obviously assigned him too strenuous a task.

On Monday, we drove to near Manchester, New Hampshire to spend time with our friends Henri, Genevieve, and their new little sister, Vivienne, at their grandparents' house.

Not even swimming all day can make some happy.

Genevieve, who even though she's 2.5 and the same age as William, we still call her "Baby Genevieve."
