Ah, drool. Avonlea Jane has a lot of outfits that came with bibs. When we got these outfits, we couldn't understand why an infant would need a bib, because they don't eat food. Then, this weekend we found out. Friday night Avonlea Jane started drooling, and she hasn't quit since.
In addition to this new phase, she is indeed growing like a weed. While dressed, she now weighs 12 lbs. 14 oz. and is over 24" long! (She actually looks pretty husky in the above photo, but that is mainly because she's wearing a cloth diaper that is fatter than her usual ones.) She is outgrowing her clothing at a rapid pace. We didn't have any problems with her transitioning from newborn clothing to size 0-3, probably because we had very few things that were small enough for her when she was born. However, as she's starting to no longer fit into her 0-3 sized clothing it seems somewhat sad. As she is nearly three months old, it was destined to happen, but it is a reminder that she won't be tiny forever.
She is finally getting used to being worn by one of us. When she was tiny, tiny we could only fit her in the pouch, which she didn't care for so much. She loves to be in the Ergo carrier though and generally falls right asleep. It is now Daddy's secret weapon for when Mommy is at class. It is certainly enjoyable for us to wear her too, and it is a nice reminder to feel all of her movements and hiccups when she is resting on my belly and chest.
As for me, school is going well. I'm on week three, and I enjoy my classes. However, it is getting progressively more difficult to leave Avonlea Jane at home. I thought it would be harder in the beginning and then get easier as the semester went on, but it has been the opposite. Could it perhaps be because she is getting more precious by the second? Every time I get home, I think, "Could I have possibly loved you this much when I left the house?" She is certainly glad to see me as well, and she generally just stares at me for the first ten minutes I'm back. Thank goodness I have only 13 more weeks to go though.
