The end of spring break was finally springy. We celebrated the warm weather by spending Sunday in Boston without our jackets. We didn't get downtown early enough for the St. Patrick's Day Parade, but the city was awash in green.
Getting ready to leave home
This weekend was also the first time that Avonlea Jane rolled over from front to back! We also found out that she hates peek-a-boo. David was playing with her in the living room as I was doing homework in the study, and suddenly she started screaming her "I'm hurt" cry. I came in the room, and David said that he was just playing peek-a-boo with her. Surely, his watch must have pinched her, or she got scratched on his belt, or she suddenly got gassy. As soon as I picked her up she stopped crying, but she was eyeing David warily for a while. Then, an hour later, David was playing with her in the bedroom and the same thing happened. I came in, and he said it must be the peek-a-boo. Certainly, that couldn't be it. How silly would that be? So, I held her, and (like a horrible mother) I asked him to do it again. Sure enough, as soon as he said, "peek-a-boo" she started screaming, she was so scared. So, as a note to all future visitors, do not attempt to play peek-a-boo with Avonlea Jane.
