Playing on the Common

The weather lately has been fabulous, so we've been spending as much time as possible outdoors. On Monday, we went to the playground on Salem Common, where Avonlea Jane tried going down a slide for the first time. Her first few slides down, I held her hand. After she felt more confident, an older girl offered to sit by her at the top of the slide and watch her go down, while I waited at the end to catch her. She was thrilled by the whole experience and her independence in going down on her own.
