Welcome to the cottage

After we left Chicago, we drove up to David's family's cottage in Wisconsin. Avonlea Jane made short work of snuggling up to Great Grandma.

Both kids were thrilled to discover a stack of Disney movies Granpy brought up and box of toys in one of the bedrooms.

Shortly after settling in, we all hopped in the boat.

The next day, David and Granny took the kids to explore the Rainbow Flowage, where they decided to go wading.

Will decided to get out of the water eventually, but Avonlea Jane stayed in  and unfortunately, she stepped off a drop-off and went under. David wound up jumping in the water in his full clothing with his pockets full of electronics. Thankfully, while Avonlea Jane was quite frightened, she was perfectly fine.

Both kids learned the joy of rafts at the cottage. While they were busy floating with Granny in the water, Mommy and Daddy decided to swim all the way across the lake.

After her unexpected dunk in the flowage, Avonlea Jane did not want to get in the water again.
