A few things about Avonlea Jane:
1. She is not lactose intolerant, merely lactose slightly-less-than-indifferent. She isn't so intolerant that she would commit a lactose hate-crime, but she certainly wouldn't befriend lactose on the Facebook. This is bad news, because I have temporarily needed to give up drinking glasses of milk, but I can still have dairy in other foods.
2. Her favorite things in the house are a corner torch lamp in the living room, the second knob on her changing table, and Maxwell--in that order.
Some more notes:
1. I start class next week, so David has been spending some alone time with the baby. Sunday was my first time leaving the house for longer than twenty minutes without her. It was the first time Avi took a bottle as well. She wasn't that thrilled with it, but she did take it. I'm glad that all of my pumping is not for naught.
2. I spent my time away from the house seeing the movie Twilight. The book series of the same name--a teenage vampire romance--is my new obsession. I'm too old for this, but when I say obsession, I mean it. In David's words, "I have been bitten." I'm glad to know that I am in good company, as many of my friends (most of them parents) have also admitted to being "Twihards." What started out as looking for 500-600 page books to occupy my time spent nursing, is now a compulsive need to check the library listing for book three, as there is a 60-person hold list. Thankfully, Brandy is sending it to me in the mail today!
3. Our credit card information was stolen, but all of the fraudulent charges have been erased and the card cancelled. We were very impressed that we were contacted by the bank the same day and in real time that the purchases were made. We learned that our thief is thoughtful--sending flowers--and reads the New York Times. We both commented that if our thief was really thoughtful, s/he would have sent the flowers to us. Well, today we received an anonymous floral arrangement with a card that simply read, "thanks." Perhaps it wasn't from our thief and was just a coincidence, but it seems like a big one. If any of you sent us a flowers: thank you. If any of you stole our credit card: that's not very nice, but the flowers are still lovely.

I can't stop checking your blog. Your baby is beautiful. I know everyone says that, but really, Avonlea Jane is angelic. I couldn't be more impressed if she were my own!
