(After Christmas Eve mass)
We had a nice Christmas morning spent opening presents. In the afternoon local friends came by to prepare and eat Christmas dinner followed by, of course, some game playing. Avonlea Jane not only celebrated her first holiday but she experienced another first: her first tears. Most babies don't have emotional response crying until two to four months old! Before dinner, she went to sleep in Mommy's arms and woke up in the arms of David's office-mate Sam. She wasn't too thrilled with that, and was scared enough to cry real tears. Whatever amount of love we thought we had for her before this moment, it doubled upon the first sight of those big tears. Fortunately, she quickly recovered and spent the rest of the day sleeping or happily observing.
(Daddy trying to hold the baby and open presents at the same time. This method did not work out well.)
(Avonlea Jane's favorite present)
(David holding Liv's favorite present; a print she's wanted for a year, called "Elf Child." David's favorite was a mousepad for work featuring the baby girl.)
(Mabel enjoying present left-overs.)
(Falling asleep before dinner while having our booties put on. So precious.)
We hope your holiday was as bright as ours. Merry Christmas!
