The end of vacation

Ready to turn in our Junior Ranger paperwork at Jamestown before heading to Yorktown for the day

When we went back to Jamestown to turn their Junior Ranger packet, Will was asleep in the car, but Avonlea Jane got to have a little ceremony. Several park rangers were called over to quiz her about what she learned. Then, she took an oath and signed her name in the official book of rangers before getting a special from the park. Unfortunately, we don't have any photos of it, but she felt quite proud.

Yorktown was celebrating their Civil War sesquicentennial. These were there "soldier faces."

Look serious.

We drove around the park's American Revolution sites while the kids did their Junior Ranger activities.

The next day, we drove north from Virginia to see Brandy and John in New Jersey.

Happy to be at the barbecue in New Jersey

After a week of wiggling, someone lost her first tooth at the party.

The kids had a scavenger hunt after dark.

A few might have been had.

Bonding with John's brother, Victor--fast asleep
